Born from the chaos that welcomed me with a closed fist Eyes open wide with the taste of anxiety upon my lips I tuck myself away deep into my mind Somewhere other than here will be just fine Is it safe to emerge from the depths of my own despair? Or should I dwell a little longer, and ponder, how I've become so self aware The sad little naive girl grew up to view the world through a cracked and broken lens Crawling through shards of bloodied glass to find a love that would just make sense Unaware that the kind of love she desired would never show up That kind of love appears within when you've filled your own cup

This poem is strikingly honest and emotionally raw.
