Search For Tomorrow
Bruised and battered from warfare’s strife,
A soldier walks wearily fro
And deserts his post and his life,
Desperate in search for tomorrow,
Ashamed and sickened with sorrow.
The present day holds no promise,
Each moment carries fear so deft,
Broke by horror and evil’s abyss,
Broke in faith, a bare soul bereft,
Scarred memory all that is left.
He dreams of life untouched by war,
Where kindness and loving peace grow;
He hopes as he swings wide the door
And dreams of a better tomorrow;
He dreams as he lets his blood flow.
Desperate in search for tomorrow,
He dies for the future to know.
