Search For Light

"Search For Light" – A Minute

To find a little bit of light;
Like a small kite,
Needs wind outside,
To careful glide.

The wind outdoors just blows and blows;
I'm in the shadows.
Searching for aid,
Can't leave the shade.

Concentrated, I read all day,
To find my way.
From words lifted,
Slowly shifted.

Ah, Laura, a calm poem that has settled me down immediately, in a sweet and lovely way. "I'm in the shadows, searching for aid. I cannot leave the shade." This is so telling, and means a lot to me personally. Well-done, please share more.

Thank you Caren! I just started getting into poetry so there is not much more to share, yet. But you will be pleased to hear that, when I researched how different poem forms are written, I saw your cinquain "New Grass" and liked it so much, that I copied it as an example into my notebook. Merry Christmas!
