Sea of Roses
We walked through the sea-glass garden of roses,
where the sleeping flame of a celestial beast dozes.
We need not run, nor hide in fear,
even though we knew he was near.
We’ve known his magnificence since childhood,
when, flying above fields, he barely could.
Yet through confusion, we danced and played,
as stars of solace across the skies swayed.
Now his home is among the fallen feathers,
and in the balmy rain, he breathes for hours.
Yet on peaceful days like this,
he draws flowers from colors moon-kissed.
So we search for our beloved dragon,
passing through petals on horse and wagon.
There he rests, by the reds and the whites,
scaled in sparkling dreams, what a dulcet delight.
And as true hearts do, we embrace,
whispering verses of gratitude for our fate,
weaving promises to return another day to see him,
when the dragon roses are in full bloom again.
