Scraps of my Life

Too many bits of paper
With random rhyming words
That flew out of my mind
Like frightened little birds

Not wanting to lose it
I grab what I can find
Rushing pen to paper
release it from my mind

Note books, scraps of paper
With my thoughts written strong
In every drawer and odd places
Every word my hearts song

So many thoughts and memories
So many days and years
All on scraps of paper
Recording joy and tears

One day I'll gather them up
Sort them into a file
Post them on poetry soup
In the hope of making you smile

I am smiling - as this reminds me of myself, chasing words I always forget where I wrote them so I can pin them on paper to create/build/construct some sense into it and call it a poem worthy to be read on poetrysoup. Congratulations on having caught the words you've penned here!

Thanks Josefina. I was thinking that surely other poets/writers would understand. If only I hadn't lost so many bits of paper with profound words never to be found again!
