Notes About The Poem

A counter argument is that statistically you'd expect about 50 scientists to die each year, and some of these people don't seem very connected, but there still are suspicious aspects here.

Scientists walk into the horror curtain

Scientist Anthony Chavez vanished without a trace
Then a key aide vanished who worked at the same place,
Chavez was last seen walking away from his home
Didn't take his keys, his wallet, or his phone.

Melissa Cassias was last seen walking in New Mexico,
Said she'd work from home, but one thing we know:
She walked miles away from where she said she'd be,
No wallet, no cell phone, left behind her key.

Her phones were wiped clean, found in her home.
Any clues that were on them now can't be known.

Monica Reza hiked with friends in a mountain scene.
Then vanished off the earth like she'd never been..
She was creating a metal for missiles, valuable and new
overseen by Will McCasland, who, you guessed it, vanished too.

Will began walking, just with boots and a gun,
But left his glasses—nowhere to run.
No phone, no trail, no word, no sign,
Just another name in this darkening line.

Carl Grillmair was shot on his porch,  6:00 AM
Another scientist dead, there are more, count them

Who can solve this twilight zone?
Researchers go on a last walk into the unknown
Are they dead or in some foreign state?
Secrets extracted, such a dismal fate.

This may be America, but one thing is sure
Look over your shoulder, you are not secure.
