Schrei Der Eule/Call of the Owl/Grito De Lechusa

Im blassen Mondlicht
Einsamer Ruf einer Eule
Geruch von Kiefern

-----------------------------------

In pale moonlight
A solitary call of an owl
Fragrance of pine trees

-------------------------------------

En luz pálida de luna
Un solitario grito de una lechuza
Odor de mandíbulas

When I loved in Tallahassee, there was a barn owl in the woods behind my house. His unusual night song stood out from the many other owls in the area. Native American ascribed human intelligence to owls. I have no doubt this "solitary" owl was singing just for me. Enjoyed this poem very much! Love, Carolyn
