School of Mom

Motherhood triumphed my graduation -
From giddy, girly glam to poise and grace,
One of a kind, wonderful sensation,
One glance and quest of life fell into place!

Sweet school of mom, with disciplines quite tough,
Yet I wouldn't trade for any other,
Rich reward of unconditional love -
Diploma of a devoted mother!

Amazingly learning would never cease,
Lessons of selfless nurture have no bounds.
To graduate with motherhood degrees -
Surely as satisfying as it sounds!

Your poem says so much, and needed you to say it on behalf of all moms as counter to consumer mad society and way we value parents. Our Eldest daughter just gave birth to identical twin boys on Friday and thankfully their father is her soulmate. Have 5 year old grandson to our 2nd daughter. Appreciate poem Wish more men saw Fatherhood that way. Neighbor has 2 boys to different fathers Neither involved. Boys adopted me and I help mum. Mow lawns. Keep writing and bringing hope. There were times when my kids were growing up, I wished there was a school to learn how to be a better parent. They're independent adults now and none are seeing a psychiatrist so i guess it all worked out:) I really loved the concept of this poem, Margarita.
