Notes About The Poem

No matter how hard I try, I still can't duplicate that exact wonderful taste of that beautiful woman's specialty. Her Italian sauce/gravy was to die for. I can still smell it!

Scent Sent From Heaven

I can still smell it
mom's famous spaghetti sauce
'twas scent...from heaven

Love that "scent" from heaven! :) I often find the exact recipe tastes just a little different when we prepare it ourselves. Not sure why... Good luck!

Mom's recipes are always the best and when handed down, bring love, memories and sentiment. A wonderful write Charles, Jennifer.

Love this. Every time I make my mom’s homemade sauce and stuffed shells it takes me back to my youth. All the family gathered around, all the different Italian foods cooking with aromas that filled the whole house and seemed to linger for days ... Wonderful Charlie. Best wishes in the contest :) hugs

I'm a sucker for puns, this one has the added benefits of motherhood, nostalgia and good food. Anybody else hungry? Great senryu, Charles.
