Scarlet Petal
Scarlet petals soft to touch flutter to the ground
Delicate as a summer breeze they do not make a sound
The scent of roses fills the air gently all around
Silent sweetness, scarlet petals, a sight quietly profound
As time passes, petals wilt against their hardened bed
Crackled up as death consumes that brilliant scarlet red
Steadily advancing until all of the color has been bled
Black engraves within the cells and there they will embed
Nearing to extinction, the scarlet petal disappears
Turning into dust and silent flowing tears
The beauty of the petal remains not as it appears
The softened memory and silent sweetness remains throughout the years
