Scared Straight

Black sky with thunder, let not lightning through
For fear in this evening that I’d get my due
I wish not electric to run through my veins
Black sky with thunder, I ask this of you

Black sky with thunder, my punishing foe
I’ll repent, change my ways, I want you to know
I’ll make good my promises, help those in need
Black sky with thunder, please let the clouds go

Black sky with thunder, please bring only sound
For if lightning strikes, it’s dangerous on ground
I’m doing my best to get quickly home
If your lightning finds target, I pray I’m not found
