Scarecrow In Still Life
The scarecrow silently screams in a still life silhouette,
dripping lines of dampened darkness across the vignette.
With ragged coverings drooping, pinned to a pecking post,
he shivers in the still breeze, always threatened by the host.
A murder flaps in frozen time, neither future nor past.
Amidst blackened iris fields, the scarecrow shakes aghast.
