Notes About The Poem

Haven't written a song in a while, and wanted to.  This idea about having a bleeding hole in my heart has been percolating for about a week.  I think it would make a great country song.  Working on revising the lyrics and putting it to guitar chords.  Originally titled Hole In My Heart.

Scar On My Heart

Scar On My Heart (MJH revised 20150223)

There’s a scar in my heart
Where your love had been.
Living me without you’s
A game I’ll never win.
Just rambling to myself,
I say again and again:
There’s a scar on my heart
Where your love had been.

There’s a part of my soul
Only you have seen.
We’ve been running around
Since we were both fourteen.
Me and you, you and I,
Were an unbeatable team.
There’s a part of my soul
Only you have seen.

There’s a hole in my heart
Where your love should be.
Together, you and I
Were always meant to be.
So turn your car around
And come home straight back to me.
There’s a hole in my heart
Where your love should be.

(chorus)
My heart is bleeding;
My soul is pleading
For you to come home and stay
They’re full of sorrows,
My todays and tomorrows,
Ever since you went away

Wel if you do, I for one would love to hear it! I play classical guitar and love music!

Put the corresponding lines together in the verses this morning to see how a melody would fit, and brought my Ibanez Artcord to work with my Roland microamp to use on breaks. Ready to figure out the music. I'm more of a rhythm guitar player myself.

A great song (poem) with a sad beat and good word choices, seducing the reader with their gentle glow of love. Emile. #7

I rather like it too, but more familiar with the old stuff. Did recently buy a CD from Lady Antebellum though. Have to tune my guitar and plunk out a melody and chords. You might also like my country-ish song Lady Luck Stomped Out.
