Haven't written a song in a while, and wanted to. This idea about having a bleeding hole in my heart has been percolating for about a week. I think it would make a great country song. Working on revising the lyrics and putting it to guitar chords. Originally titled Hole In My Heart.
Scar On My Heart (MJH revised 20150223)
There’s a scar in my heart
Where your love had been.
Living me without you’s
A game I’ll never win.
Just rambling to myself,
I say again and again:
There’s a scar on my heart
Where your love had been.
There’s a part of my soul
Only you have seen.
We’ve been running around
Since we were both fourteen.
Me and you, you and I,
Were an unbeatable team.
There’s a part of my soul
Only you have seen.
There’s a hole in my heart
Where your love should be.
Together, you and I
Were always meant to be.
So turn your car around
And come home straight back to me.
There’s a hole in my heart
Where your love should be.
(chorus)
My heart is bleeding;
My soul is pleading
For you to come home and stay
They’re full of sorrows,
My todays and tomorrows,
Ever since you went away
