Saying Goodbye To You
Saying goodbye to you
If you were to tell me that you had to go
There isn’t a thing I would want you to know
For what we must learn from each other today
Is true only if you share each next, new day.
I’d think that you’d wonder and want to ask why
But I’d stare into space or up at the blue sky
For you do not want me and now I can tell
That you’d rather leave, and you just might as well.
I know I’d be lonely and miss you at first
But friends and my family would quench that dry thirst
Once time has gone by and you haven’t come back
My life will be moving along a new track.
