Saying Goodbye
Saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do
It should make it easier with me not even knowing you
I thought of names for you - both girl & boy
Just the thought of you brought me joy
Thinking about your life made me smile
For you I would walk a thousand miles
I can just picture your little webbed toes and feet
Our life with you would be such a treat
I bought small hands and feet to make cookies telling your dad
I didn't get to use them and that makes me sad
I wanted everyone to see my little blessing
Now that I can't share you it's so depressing
I know which day it was that you said goodbye
It hurts so bad I just sit and cry
I blame myself each and every day
I can't imagine why God would take you away
I know your life wasn't meant to be
I didn't understand at first, but now I see
Maybe we weren't ready your Dad and I
I know one day we'll see you and never again have to say goodbye
