Satisfaction In An Afternoon
Just as much as the paper oaks layer
and fall back on shuffling feet
to crisp up the air of the grayest of days
leaving the feeling of winter complete
this is how much I am yearning for you
stringing my nights with burnt fire flies
completing my breathing with thoughts of your own
blown transient and electrified
Wrapping this scarf of desire much tighter
knotting the noose in my stride
Shuffling my feet without purpose or fire
miserable winter inside
Stingy of skin to the chill in the air
Hear you at every turn
Paper oaks wanting a reason to blow
their leaves off this infinite yearn.
