Sarai With An I

When Sarai met the face of God, was she afraid? He took her name and left her to wander. Did she smile at the news of a son? Or did she cry knowing her womb was only water? There is some sort of unestablished freedom in falling when others expect you to soar. When Abraham brought her child to the slaughter, did she feel her offspring's fear? It's said she died of shock soon after. Did the unfulfilled grief kill her soul? Did she see his bloodied face on the altar? Maybe Sarah should have stayed with an I. As Sarai, she never would have gotten into this anyway. Maybe she should have been flattened With no hills left to die on.
