Sanity Speaks

Would you tell me the truth if it hurt worse
Than what I already know,
Or would you save me the pain and just sit there and curse
Like a coward in the face of a foe.

My heart begs me to cry but I wont shed a tear,
I'll lock it away until I'm alone.
I can't bear to seem weak with you cold heart so near,
And the carelessness you've already shown.
