Sanity

Is sanity a gift or foe? I wonder at its campaign To inflict confusion. Maybe madness is my friend. Will it block the pain And edge out the fear, Yet crush the inevitable Normality enemy? Accustomed to intense It holds me in its stare Grips me in its wilderness And yet I feel safe.
