Sandy Beach
I feel the sand beneath my feet
Cool gritty moist making sure to mind the holes,
Hand in hand we walk silently
Enjoying the heat warming our souls
The seagulls squawk above
They dart overhead diving low,
We duck down laughing
For they are fast as a torpedo.
We sit on the steps
Yellow-orange beams begin to glow,
Waiting as the sun disappears
For we no longer see it as it goes down below.
