Sandy Beach

I feel the sand beneath my feet Cool gritty moist making sure to mind the holes, Hand in hand we walk silently Enjoying the heat warming our souls The seagulls squawk above They dart overhead diving low, We duck down laughing For they are fast as a torpedo. We sit on the steps Yellow-orange beams begin to glow, Waiting as the sun disappears For we no longer see it as it goes down below.
