Sands of Time

You lay beside me But a million miles away I feel as a grain of sand In an antique hourglass Nowhere to go but down Just to be turned over and fall again Why am I locked in this ocean of pain Sea of heartache in which a lifetime remains The days I’ve lived Replay many times And puts me in the place Where I must hide The sands of time are passing by Reminding me I was born to die When the time comes I don’t know Will I be young Or will I be old With a lifetime of accomplishments Shrouded with love and pain
