Salute to Mercury
Salute ! to my beloved ruling planet
Mercury, who sits in my house of
communication too, resplendent in
kaleidoscopic prismatic presentation
articulations profound, closest to
our Golden Fountain of Fountains
radiating HIS heat, you carry a Roman
god’s name so searing sweet
your ear open to Core’s desires
serving unique in metallic colour
verve with matching orbital speed —
you precisely dictate how my letters
should ring your hilly terrain sting
to bring what is to be done for One !
blessed am I to be governed by
smallest ~ for in density minute lies
both exaltation and retrogrades
your light and dark sides erupt
smooth lavic messages of cold
reflection, revisiting revelling
reassessments, renewal __
your core is torrid, you have no moon
to swoon upon whilst eccentrically
orbiting, emitting volatile electrons
across your atmosphere-less poles
we cannot but curtsy to your weird
terrain containing the self-same
sodium, calcium, potassium,
magnesium that we do too in
our own micro orbits mundane
your glow nubbles, almost as
dense as Gaia’s, shower
silvery for us to catch in batch …
pleased am I to articulate your
hatter-platter orders, flitter fast
as your narrow ridges blast wind
eruptions into your own exosphere
Mercury, the Small ! you have no
qualms about pulling rugs from
under our feet, triggering our wires
making plexus reel, seal lips bleeping
Gaia’s communications knot, block,
glitch mails, voices, internet —
take-offs cannot merely make-off
when you, Planet of Communication,
dictate a slow down, as HE requires,
for us to sit quiescent queenly or
retire, to smell roses, perhaps
examine our toes !
metallic-silicate power holds
your heavenly fluid ~ we bow to
your quality of knowing when things
are to fall apart, your messages
manifest, so let it be ____
Salute we your highly magnetic pull,
opening portals into Spirit’s plastrons (...)
though rarely visited by human probes
~ some two hundred thousand
photos of your beauteous body did
Messenger capture for Earthlings
to glean, before she crashed exhausted,
into your tessellated surface _____
Not do I wish to be ruled by any
other heavenly body, decreeing
did Divine precisely, as usual,
make my frequencies align
with your smart commanding
peculiarity (...) !
