Salute
So they say I'm going to die
Is that's meant to make me cry
On my own I always stood
Doing all I could
To keep going
All the time knowing
I'm meant to die
Why should I cry
I cry for the lonely man on the corner so cold
Those so alone as they grow old
That's life I'm told
Those that get my tears
Those older in years
Sitting alone forgotten
They feel they must of done something rotten
To be left behind
Forgotten and out of mind
For those struggling on the street
Just looking to find some heat
That soldier standing alone
Fearful of all he has been shown
Born into all this strife
Throughout this game called Life
Long gone is the wife
A tear goes out
I give a shout
To all the lonely people out there
Life was never fair
But here you are
Proudly showing your scar
The badge of life
For being born amongst this strife
I salute you
For standing true
