Sadness
She spoke to me of her passion
And I watched her face as it brightened
As she spoke, she had a sudden recall
And apologized for speaking at all
Because someone had told her she wasn't enough
The flame inside her eyes was snuffed
She has been told to keep her words at bay
People aren't born sad, we make them that way
