Sad Vigil

Sad vigil here
Where death creeps near

Dark is the night
Where darkness lights

Mark this place well
Where shadows dwell

Feel the sad cold
Where death takes hold

The half-moon wanes
Where sad cold rains

Cold like deep frost
Where pulse seems lost

I wait and watch
Where loss finds notch

Too much moans fail
Where death lifts veil

Too late to run
Where cold air stuns

I turn to stare
Where plain rhymes bare

Then must I know
Where new life shows

In the cold night
Where death moves sight

Soon limp form fraught
Where breath turns naught

Going home now
Where love endows
