Sad Goodbye

by Michael J Falotico Two lips once connected.. Hands now have let go.. Voices no longer dissected.. Now an email to speak.. Pen Pals for a time but now too weak.. Worlds apart, where to hide.. Just another sad goodbye..

Yes, it's what happens with long distance. My son is still living apart from his new wife. They are still waiting for permission for her to take her kids out of state! I enjoyed this one, Michael.

It happens, what seems like a true connection....and then for whatever reason, fades. I too ponder, and it seems to be a sadness that grips most of us some time or another. Yes...this one, most of us will relate. So well expressed in this touching poem.

Michael, I saw your comment on Jack Horne's poem and agree. You were on the same wavelength today. Jack is also happily married like you, so his write was based on memories. I'm sure he'll be reading your poem soon. Love, Carolyn

I saw your comment below and am glad this write is based on memories, Michael. People do drift apart gradually sometimes. When the emails end, sometimes we don't notice at first. After a while, though, we start wondering how the distance grew. Very touching poem, my friend. Love, Carolyn
