Sacrifice

the fruit on a tree
is bound and not free
when free it will shed
its flesh, deep and red
it will give up its soul
as its ultimate goal
it won’t reveal what’s inside
the life it did hide
in stone hut round
it will fall to the ground
it will fall and be free
to fulfill destiny
it will be buried in soil
as rotten fruits spoil
it will wait for its time
a moment sublime
when it will open its door
and live once more
