Sacrifice
As he pulled out his tattered old wallet
He really only had a very little bit
But he took that money and pulled it all out
Helping another in their time of doubt
She was already running late
And she didn’t have anytime to wait
But she knew the Lord was leading her day
So she listened intently to what her co-worker had to say
Watching the other kids putting her down
She was disheartened by the girls deeply sad frown
So she walked over saying will you be my friend
And she brought all that bullying right to an end
He was tired and just wanted to rest
But his wife was studying for a big test
He pulled up a chair and said how can I help you
And she said, It’s just nice to be next to you
They finally won the big game
And life for them would never be the same
Nor would it be for the little boy with the glove
As he signed it for him in all that push and shove
So if there is one thing from this that you discern
May it be that next time, when it is your turn
That you will rise up, rise above all the rest
And pass one of Gods’ more simpler test
