Sacrifice

Prophet Ebrahim held his son in his arms
He knew the child will come to no harm
Tears of happiness shone in his eyes
He seemed free from earthly ties
Allah had commanded him
He knew the task ahead was grim
His faith would be tested today
There were no hurdles in his way
He laid Ismael on the rock
And prepared to sacrifice him for the Lord
Just then the Almighty revealed
That Ebrahim was healed
His Sacrifice is accepted
He has been elevated
A willingness to sacrifice
Desire, greed and lies
Makes a true and pious man
Who fits perfectly the divinely plan

Sometimes we question the challenges that are thrown our way, Tahera. Ebrahim's faith was so strong that he was willing to sacrifice his son, but God in his mercy was just challenging his faith. A beautifully penned poem on the Bible story, my friend. It's a reminder that God will always forgive. Love, Carolyn
