Sacrifice

When I silence the one man orchestra playing in my chest Cut the show short during the set, And leave my friends and family wanting more of me I do not do it selfishly No To quiet my own symphony My own breath Is the ultimate offering The most that I can give to you After my body is blue And when the music sheets stand idle Never to be read again Take note of what I have done There will be no encore No more taking the stage You will have to remember me in the memories created as it played The world may no longer hold the rhythm of my heart But I do this So that the music of your own can Continue to play through To what I hope Is a sweet and gentle end
