I'm Not Heavy, I'm Their Mother -- On Being a Burden — Integrated Catholic Life™

she knows naught of a life that is her own, so giving all she has to mate and brood ... and tho deep-down within, she burns alone, for just one treasured passion that is hers, her kids and husband, precious saboteurs ... require her love, and selfless fortitude. a dream of dancing feet is now the haunt of little feet that danced into her heart, and one knight, true, her charming confidant. so maybe, one day, she will twirl her toes, but she has no regrets, as goodness knows ... a wife and mother ... plays the grandest part.

Thank you so much, Debbie! (Where I missed submitting it here I added it to a submission to a magazine, but will post it here as soon as it's denied, which I anticipate, lol. Soup Mail is a tricky thing, I've found - many of my "sent" mails just disappear, and the others only go back one page).

A wonderful tribute to the virtues and vicissitudes of motherhood, and to the women who morph from wives to mothers. It takes a sensitive soul like yours, my friend, to comprehend the challenge involved as well as the everlasting rewards Kudos! :) Gershon

I know a few dads that have made just such a sacrifice also, Greg. Some of us have been taught, that responsibility takes precedence over dreams. It's called a selfless love. Beautifully written as always.

Giving up their life of freedom to one of sacrifice certainly makes them a special human being. Beautiful verse Gregory. Tom
