Running water in the summer Go in awashin' with soap Now the creek is covered In overgrowth like a cloak Staying with my aunt, clever was she She'd say let's go swimming in the creek She'd grab some towels, slip in the soap Then we'd wash so we'd not reek Loving, happy memories now As I view her lovely face Have you ever had an aunt so kind It seemed she was cloaked in Grace Now she's gone on to her reward The trees, bushes now overgrown Right up to the very creek she owned How now going in awashin' I long In Remembrance Of Aunt Dolly Cochran Morgan

Sheri, She was a special lady. She died such a horrible death from cancer of the plasma of the blood. I think they call it Multiple Myeloma ...There is treatment for it today but back then there wasn't much that could be done. Thanks for your visits to my page. Sara

Susan, My aunt died around 35 years ago but we went by her old home and the creek this week end and these memories came flooding my heart so I wrote this one in honor of her. Thanks for the visit to my page. Sara

This tribute to your dear aunt brought tears as I remember my aunt. We were closer than I was with my mother. We thought so much alike and I miss her dearly. A lovely memory created this beautiful poem Sara. : )
