Running Short

Our time on earth is running short,
the word of God we must exhort.

A world overwhelmed by fortune and fame,
where selfish pride is the name of the game.

No one is concerned with values or trust,
because living life fully is a must.

Hard work is a thing of the past,
so the honest few finish last.

Success and how far you go,
strictly determined by who you know.

In a world so visibly vain,
we must strive to maintain.

Let our light shine in a world so dark,
do our best to make a mark.

Sow a seed to those who are lost,
no matter what the cost.

Tell of the sacrifice Jesus made,
and how the price of sin was paid.

The word of God we must exhort,
for our time on earth is running short.
