Running

Running down the long, curvy, hilly road The monsters closing in behind My legs are struggling to carry the load But it's difficult to outrun my mind. The monsters slobbering, growling, running like dogs Constantly chasing, constantly gaining ground I lift my feet to avoid the logs But every time they catch me with a bound I know I must face these hellish things- The shadows that overwhelm me- These monsters take down kings- So I'll make a last attempt to flee.
