Run With Me Into the Woods

O! Dearly beloved, let us stray From worldly woes and troubles' sway Into the woods, where ancient secrets sleep And whispers of the forest's mystic keep Run with me, dear heart, through shrubbery deep Where burning passions have not yet crept A long way away, to the deeper end Where man's dark touch has not yet offended The grasses sway, their unvarying heads Dancing to the rhythm of the forest's threads The birds sing sweetly, their melodious song Echoing through the trees, all day long Far away, the forest's distant cry Reaches our ears, a sorrowful sigh Its sweet tears bathing the bitter ground As nature weeps for all that's lost around Let us escape this world's disdain and scorn Leave behind the pain, the hurt, the torn Forget the losses, the what-ifs, the maybes And find solace in the forest's gentle ways In this green sanctuary, we'll find our peace A refuge from the world's wild, restless release Where love and laughter, hope and joy reside And the beauty of nature will be our guide So come, dear one, let us take a stroll Through the woods, where love and magic unfold And let the forest's secrets be our guide As we wander, hand in hand, side by side.
