Rubik's Cube Fantasy

If Rubik's cube was molded round
no crazy puzzle would be found.
It could just be, like Earth, a sphere-
a ball with colorful veneer.
 
Now think of Earth as Rubik-cubed-
a smooth existence does elude;
unstably spinning through the air-
with rifts, upheavals everywhere.

So, if the Rubik's cube was round-
I'd play with it- roll it around.
But, with the Earth, Rubik-designed-
could its distortions be aligned?
