Rough Side of Town

A chain swings past my head
My knife connects and someone is dead
I take my life in to my hands
Holding a club and taking a stand

Life is long and it’ll bring you down,
When you’ve got to live on the rough side of town
Yeah life is long, and it’ll bring you down
When you’ve got to live on the rough side of town.

One night we all met out in the street
Out Shot stepped out for out gangs to meet,
Our leader yelled and the fight began
I pulled out my knife and I took my stand

A boy lay in the road blood, running from his head
People gather ‘round I think he is dead
Off in the distance I hear a siren cry
And I know tomorrow may be my turn to die

Yeah life seems so long and it brings you down,
When you’ve got to live on the rough side of town
Yeah life is long, and it’ll bring you down
When you’ve got to live on the rough side of town.
