Roses are Red

Roses are red
Violets are blue
The colors are fading
Just like my view.
Roses are red
The sky's turning gray
I’m stuck in the silence
Of another lost day.

Roses are red
The thorns pierce so deep
I wish I could wake
But I’m still half asleep.
Roses are red
Their fragrance is sweet
But it’s hard to enjoy
When I’m feeling defeat.
Roses are red
The petals fall slow
Like all of my hopes
That I've come to outgrow.

' The colors are fading. ' Yes, that happens. This reminds me to appreciate the beauty all around me. To hold onto precious moments. Your thoughts caress gently around my heart. ~ Brandy
