Rosary-The Transfiguration
He took Peter, John and James to the mountainside to pray.
A little bit of quiet, a time to get away.
There He was transfigured and they began to fear.
And Moses and Elijah did appear.
Then Peter stood and said, “It is good that we are here.
Let us build three tents that You might be revered.”
A shadow then came over them cast by a bright cloud
Then a voice of thunder spoke aloud,
Listen to Him. God is well pleased.
Glorify, adore Him. Fall upon your knees.
Listen to Him! God’s beloved Son,
Transfigured in glory, He outshines the sun.
And then Peter, James and John all fell prostrate to the ground
In fear of what had happened, the change, the light, the sound.
But Jesus came and touched them, and this is what He said,
“Rise, my friends. Do not be afraid.”
They came down from the mountain, shaken to the core.
Incidents like these are too big to just ignore.
But Jesus told them, “Don’t say what you’ve seen to any one
Until my death and resurrection’s done.”
We may have not seen this and yet we can believe.
For faith’s a gift from God that we receive.
Listen to Him. God is well pleased.
Glorify, adore Him. Fall upon your knees.
Listen to Him! God’s beloved Son,
Transfigured in glory, He outshines the sun.
