Notes About The Poem

Roosters Shout

A fine damp gauze drapes across trees
As white dread locks fan out
Upon a pale blue morning sky
White doves coo, roosters shout

Come up orange sun, shine through shadows
Silhouette trees, warm
Surroundings for spring has sprung
Coming into grand form

Golden sun lift the drapes away
Allow the birds to nest
Bring the plants alive to seed, grow
To replenish the earth's best

It is a delight to view the spring morning scenes through your poetic perspective, Sara. Beautiful!

Carolyn, I rode around the open field above Doris' house this morning and the woods along the edge still have hickory blooming, there is a type of oak that still has tassels and I think it is a birch that still has blooms so the pollen is still out there and I have now got a headache..Thanks for the visit..Sara

Ravi, Thanks for the visit..Glad that you saw the images as lovely..Roosters sometimes seem to be shouting when there are so many of them making the cock-a-doodle-dos in the hollow on the creek..Sara

This poem was entertaining and three dimensional in character. Good imagery and flow are both presented within these lines. Emile.
