Rooster Slayers

three hens with heart shaped shades
went to the diner one day for lemonade
the farmer was stressed, they were his best layers
don’t worry, his wife said, they are rooster slayers

Roosters will follow them home, and we’ll get lots of eggs
She was right too, her ideas you can fit on neat round pegs
three hens brought home six roosters that day
Eggs were soon sliding out of the hen house in a rapid way
