Room For Beauty
it may be that hers and mine
are miles and miles apart,
still in its time and own design
there's work within this heart
for if the trials of youth
are not but blessings worth mistaking,
I'll walk alone into the cold
while in the meantime making
room for beauty
should she desire for someone's eyes
to mirror all her shine,
I can't conceive a higher prize
than that those eyes be mine
for if the tales of old
prove lovers brave to be believing,
I'll take their ageless words along
and spare no inch in leaving
room for beauty
