Robin Holds Her Ground
the sun tried to outlast the bird
beat down on his feathers
in a circular motion
bird was a robin, used to turmoil
she held her ground, ignoring the heat
come on! Sun said. Give!
a confident mother, she stayed on the sign
defying the sun to give her more
sun bowed in deference to her station
