Robert Lloyd Sherriff - Australian- Doomsday Clock

Robert Lloyd Sherriff - Australian Poet, Author, Actor, and Model: American Historian.

Doomsday Clock

Beneath the shadow of the doomsday clock,
Where minutes to midnight linger and mock,
Humanity stands on a fragile dock,
Counting down seconds on nature’s stock.
For we have fools, so the wise often speak,
Holding the power that makes the future bleak,
With atomic fires, no shelter to seek,
Seven billion dreams could fade, silent and meek.
But from the ashes, hope can rise anew,
If hands unite under skies once again blue.
Generosity, like morning dew,
Can restore the morrow, fresh and true.
In the heart of a land far and wide,
Lies the chance to turn this perilous tide,
Where contributions can no longer be hidden,
A hopeful tomorrow, our ultimate guide.
Across the globe, a plea softly echoes,
Calling for heroes to deliver us from woes.
To every corner, the effort grows,
Paved with every act of kindness that flows.
This majestic earth, so vibrant and grand,
Demands we protect it, hand in hand.
From every mountain to every strand,
Together, for a future we had not planned.
The clock ticks still, near the stroke of fate,
Urging all to act before it’s too late.
With united hearts, we can create,
A world of love, leaving no room for hate.
A call to all, far and near,
To look beyond fear with a clear vision.
Our shared humanity holds dear,
The power to persevere and steer.
Toward a dawn of understanding and peace,
Where the ticking of doom may finally cease.
In unity, our efforts increase,
For a world reborn and forever released.
