Roads To Nowhere
I love
to take
roads to nowhere
it's amazing
just what
can be found
on the back streets
and dusty
old high-ways
of streets
that in country
abound
We travelled past
dirt gravel
by-ways
past outbacks
and buildings
on farms
and came
to an old gravel
driveway
that offered
to tourists
it's charms
The owner
had built
wooden fixtures
a high-chair
to large for a child
a table
of polished
brown maple
a village
of animal twigs
A rope
to swing
across
rivers
the day was
a giggle of fun
our life
held the joy
of our laughter
a day
of the daylight
and sun
