River's Edge

Water flows throughout the land.
I sit next to the river as the water flows.
The river speaks. I listen.
The river says that even when frozen my
mind flows beneath the ice.
The brightest day brings warmth to my soul
and only God can stop the flow of my heart.
In time the river may run dry.
But it's spirit shall remain flowing
throughout my heart.
I sit and wait knowing that the spirit of
the river shall remain unchanged.
I listen and I wait by the river that flows
within your heart.
The love which the river carried away in
time the tide shall bring back.
Until the tide comes I shall sit here and
wait and listen for your enchanting voice
that echoes all around me like a sweet
melody playing within my heart.
