River Romance
It is easier to float downstream
Than to paddle against the current.
Going with the tide takes small effort
Problem is, we must work to get home.
Don’t be lulled into idle thinking--
Thinking that we can have a free ride.
If we catch a fish, clean it. Eat it.
Or put the fish back in the water.
Life on the river with its romance
Has a certain sparkle and a joy.
Fresh air, leafy trees, new adventures.
What’s around the bend? Go and find out!
