River Minnows Deax

Seen Heaven Or a little peep perhaps Viewed unseen but in this summer light Minnow’s dark tops sides a lovely silver hidden Serendipity a contrary counter way shapes and in shadows Green reeds softly sway the gentle flanking current persuading Lit the riverbed of soft golden sands transmuted a bronze by depth Glistening yellow auric the strong suns noonday blazing light beams down Ancient buttress grey stone shaped by old artifice gives water a gentle pass On the river bridge the weight of water an impetus a few feet down below In the distance bright garden colours given now soft a focus by haze Comfy white cottages over the river resting in water meadows seen A self carved path by an enticement no choice drawn to the sea The river flowing passing on its ancient meandering way Sheep graze roaming enamoured of the warm grass Scene of all basking in high summer sun A pleasant walk down to the river One of life’s sunshine days Heaven seen

What more could I ask for today? It is a beautiful day the sun shining and birds singing. I am reading your poetry in which you share a little of yourself maybe without even realizing it. You have written from your soul oh yes you have. Thank you for sharing your excellent poetry with us Nigel. Love, Carol
