Rising Above
Today I rose
Above myself
And looked upon my life below
How strange it felt
When looking down
To see someone I did not know
And then I promised
To myself
My love for those that I held dear
Would kill the man
That I had been
And conquer all that I had feared
Today I found
Not only truth,
But courage better than before;
With friends beside
And strength of heart,
I’ll journey in the light once more.
