Rise and Fall of Forests

RISE AND FALL OF FORESTS Deforestation and mechanization, Have vanquished, Tribes and animals, Have been banished. United the world must stand, Against those, Who grab green land. Corporations brazenly, Partake in this nab, Their only thought To possess and to grab. What do they gain, In this pitiful game, Only fear of a lion or tiger Or man with a knife Who has to fend for cubs, Or a family of five! The elite but greedy few, Will be the target of revenge, For Karma will be due. Forest dwellers and animals, Must sustain their livelihood, When driven to an Urban neighborhood. They need to survive, And will attack to stay alive! Wouldn’t it be grand, If we could be assured That our forests remain As precious green land!

Powerful and needed words. Everyday we steal from earth and we do not give back to her. I pray we become kind to nature and her creatures. A amazing poem.

Thank-you for a lovely comment John and very nice to meet you. Our garden is full of trees - each one means something to me - I'm sure forest people and animals feel the same. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

I love trees, too. However.. Come to Califonia, where tree cutting is forbidden and whole cities burned to the ground, due to these laws. Now they are being flooded too. I have no answers for this. Our state has been in a drought for years. Dry dead trees equal disaster. I wish trees could remain..I am one who actually hugs trees. Can't bear them being torn down. Karma, yes. Great poem! Have three huge evergreens in my back yard

We had one struck by lightening, which my Dad had planted - I loved that tree, and it was a landmark in our suburb! We sold our house, and renovated my parents house when my mom passed . I made the half that was left by the tree fellers into a central feature and resigned our garden around it with our gardener. Enjoy your evergreens - I love trees and gardens. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Over production is at heart of problem. Also short shelf life of most goods. No restrictions on advertising lifestyles that cannot be sustained does not help either. Keep your poems coming for the sake of the children. Poetry can reach where other mediums can't. Regards David in NZ

Hi David, Thank you for a thoughtful comment - I hope the children of tomorrow will take note, but as I see it fewer and fewer couples want to bring children into this world, they prefer to adopt a child needing a home, warmth and love. Take care, Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

If we don't Gordon, we can't blame animals who encroach nearer and nearer to human settlements, and we all know the consequences! Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

You have made your point extremely well, Jenny. Forests and their inhabitants, whether humans or other creatures, need to be safeguarded, otherwise we all stand to lose. Warm regards // paul

Hi Paul, Thank you for a meaningful comment - it is a crying shame for humans and animals who for generations have lived in the forest, and fed of the forest to now be forced into urban and suburban areas. A danger now exists with residents and workers in these areas as the forest beings have to survive, and will turn to anything merely to exist. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

G'day Jennifer … greed and lack of caring for the future will eventually destroy humanity, but still the vandalism goes on. Thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

A dire and very real warning about this ongoing tragedy. This massive destruction must be stopped. Your poem is an important part of stopping this ongoing greed and destruction! A fav..

Thank-you Robert for such an apt and meaningful comment. You are right, is is like a mass self destruction of humankind. It is an ignorant irresponsibility. I had a bug I caught in hospital when a got food poisoning in December and have gone through 4 lots of antibiotic because it was a super bug, but thankfully am coming right, I will be looking at your poems over the weekend. Love and poetry hugs, Jennifer. Jennifer.

Trees and forests we will have no more if they don't stop! They don't realise that it is a living organism that feels pain when being cut and chopped. These corporate companies are a bunch of bullies and we should all stand together to put a STOP to it. A favourite! You have once again outdone yourself Jennifer! Kim

That is a very humane thought we all love forests, but do any of us think of the pain these living organisms got through. An excellent comment Kim, very well said. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Thank you Vijay for a very understanding comment - even if my voice is of small consequence, if giant corporations who are stealing this inhabited green land, hear or see or read something, somewhere, someone who is not yet corrupt, can speak to these brazen people alerting them to this impending disaster. I wish for this to happen from the bottom of my heart. Thank-you for your precious comment to me Vijay. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Deforestation is happening everywhere and all that will be left is barren land, greed and profit are the biggest culprits. Great write Jennifer. Tom.

Traditional Apaches are born with the obligation to make the land a better place for their grandchildren to live, but Christians (like Trump) believe in grabbing all they can get their hands on before the next guy because the world will end any day now, after which their god will restore earth to its natural beauty. They've been wrong for 2,000+years! It IS a challenge to change a religious mindset! Aloha! Rico

Hi Rico, I agree with the Apaches, but I think if taken individually, there will be a lot more people than anyone can imagine that want the world to become a better place for their grandchildren, that is of course if our children have children ! Yasou and poetry hugs, Jennifer.

We are seeing bears travel into residential areas. This is happening everywhere, Jennifer. Amen to what you say and Bravo for the way you say it!

Hi Carolyn, Thank-you for a lovely comment. Yes, we watched a national geographic documentary - bears are becoming very suburb friendly, unwanted visitors, who burst through a door and raid your refrigerator, the occupants peeping from a temporary sanctuary, hoping the bear does not smell them, as their sense of smell I understand is phenomenal.. the same is happening with the tigers in India - very scary incidents - but greedy men have brought this upon us. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.
